Megan completed her ABSN at Duke University in 2007. She then worked as a bedside nurse in the PICU at Duke University Children's, Christus Santa Rosa Children's, and Covenant Women's and Children's Hospitals. She received her MSN in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care from TTUHSC in 2012. She joined the TTUHSC Pediatric Hospitalist team as the first APP within their group, building the position and assisting with onboarding further APPs. She completed her Post-Masters in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care at Vanderbilt University in 2014. She moved with her family to Dallas, Texas in 2017, where she joined Children's Medical Center as an APP within their PICU. Not long after joining Children's, she joined the TTUHSC School of Nursing Pediatric Acute Care program as adjunct faculty. The majority of the APPs within Children's, including Megan, transitioned employment to UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2021, while maintaining their original positions. In 2024, Megan was asked to take on the position of Onboarding and Education Coordinator within the PICU APP group, in order to ensure standardization of orientation for both nurse practitioners and physician assistants alike, and offer ongoing educational opportunities. After beginning her journey to obtain her DNP through Vanderbilt University in 2025, Megan joined the TTUHSC School of Nursing as an Assistant Professor within the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner programs, both Acute and Primary tracks. Her areas of particular interest include onboarding and education, effective communication, evidence-based practice, and mentorship.
