Merritt Mallamo Brockman

Merritt M. Brockman is currently an Assistant Professor and the Program Director-Academics for the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management Program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She is a career healthcare administrator and has served in a variety of healthcare leadership positions in the military, private sector, and academia. Merritt is a decorated Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service during combat operations. Additionally, she deployed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic to lead a multi-disciplinary 57-person High Consequence Infectious Disease Task Force. This team provided Aeromedical Evacuation to infectious patients located within the United States and the Pacific Theater with an area of responsibility covering 64% of the globe as well as on-call contingency response personnel to support Vice President Harris and her team. Merritt served for nearly 12 years in the Active Component of the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Colonel after 22 years of commissioned service. Her main focus area is Healthcare Operational Efficiency.
