Mumtaz Yaseen, MS; Ph.D., is an Associate Professor Research in the Department of Immunology and Molecular Microbiology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. Dr. Yaseen graduated from Kashmir University with a bachelor’s degree in biology, and a master’s in biotechnology from Allahabad Agricultural University. Dr. Yaseen earned a doctorate in human biology at the Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich Germany in 2007 with a focus on hematological malignancies and proteomics. Dr. Yaseen completed his postdoctoral fellowships from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and National Cancer Institute Frederick Maryland in 2010. Dr. Yaseen was awarded Up-on-the Roof and Pelotonia grant fellowships by Ohio State University, Columbus Ohio. Dr. Yaseen was recruited as Assistant Professor of Medicine to Tufts University School of Medicine in 2014. Dr. Yaseen’s research pioneered the concept of targeting concurrently two axes of exhaustion for T cell functional reversal. These novel concepts helped successfully receive NCI/NIH grants.
