Dr. Nibedita Roy Chowdhury is from Bangladesh. Her family and father's long struggle with cancer instilled the passion for Medicine in her and led her graduate from Chittagong Medical College in Bangladesh with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery( MBBS). Dr. Chowdhury obtained internship training in Medicine, Ob-Gyn and surgery from Grenada General Hospital, in West Indies. She then completed her 3 years of internal medicine residency from University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, TN, USA. She is board certified in American Board of Internal Medicine( ABIM), a member of American College of Physician(ACP), and Society of Hospital Medicine(SHM). Dr. Chowdhury also earned Masters in Public Health( MPH) from University of New England, Portland, Maine. Her areas of interests are hospital medicine, quality improvement and collaboration in hospital medicine and medical education. Dr. Chowdhury was formerly an assistant professor of hospital medicine at University of Missouri, Columbia. She is now serving as an assistant professor of hospital medicine in the department of Family and Community Medicine, at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas.
