Stacy is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, educator, and telehealth innovator dedicated to expanding accessible, evidence‑based mental health care for rural and underserved communities. She began her nursing career after completing her ADN in 2011, working in Emergency Departments and helping launch Cenikor’s first detox and 30‑day treatment program, now replicated statewide. She later earned her BSN and MSN from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), and in 2018, she received the Excellence in Nursing Award.
Stacy has developed statewide telehealth services for patients with dual diagnoses, earning the Texas Nurse Practitioners Rising Star Award in 2019. In 2020, she established a telepsychiatry‑focused private practice that has since grown into a group serving patients across Texas.
As an Assistant Professor at TTUHSC, she teaches in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program, advances telehealth integration in education, and serves as a preceptor, receiving the Preceptor Award in 2022. Her scholarly interests include virtual reality applications in psychiatric training and psychotherapy, emerging treatments for PTSD and substance use, the impact of gaming on loneliness, post‑COVID anxiety, and curriculum development for practicing PMHNPs.
Stacy completed her DNP in 2025, focusing on improving medication adherence among dual‑diagnosis patients. Her clinical areas of expertise include psychiatric assessment, medication management, trauma‑informed care, telepsychiatry, collaborative care, and integrative mental health.
Outside of her academic and clinical work, she enjoys hiking, healthy cooking, and spending time with her family.
