Biographical Data: Terry Hill is an Assistant Professor of Nursing and serves as Curriculum Director for the Traditional Undergraduate BSN Program in the School of Nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He has received certification in nurse education (CNE) from the National League for Nursing. During his various nursing studies including doctoral studies, he has focused on nursing education and nurse leadership initiatives to reduce stressors in the workplace. He has taught across the curriculum with a dedicated specialty in emergency and acute care nursing. He most supports using innovative didactic and clinical education models and simulation learning in nursing based on Kolb’s experiential learning mode. He has served on various task forces for curriculum development, faculty professional development, team building, and interprofessional education. Dr. Hill has been supportive of the best use of collaborative clinical education in seeking the highest quality for this pedagogy. As an example, he has helped facilitate the development of a clinical evaluation instrument in concert with a task force of the undergraduate program to provide feedback on student performance in the clinical arena and a grade scaling tool to identify outliers on standardized exams. Current service at the institutional level includes membership on the AACN Essentials Champion team for undergraduate school of nursing programs.
