Medicine on the Move is a mobile health initiative of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in partnership with the Permian Strategic Partnership and the Caring Foundation of Texas.  This program features two mobile units that will expand access to quality affordable healthcare to the people throughout the Permian Basin. 

The program objective is to use these vans to provide services in schools, churches, restaurants, recreational parks, shopping centers, public housing, community centers, health fairs, and other related places and events.

Program Services:

Caring Foundation Logo

Caring Foundation Van

  • Direct access to providers administering vaccines and immunizations
  • Awareness of the need to immunize children with age-appropriate vaccinations
  • Health screenings 
  • Health education

Texas Tech Van

  • Mobile health clinics and telemedicine clinics 
  • Improved access to basic healthcare and entry into the system
  • Primary care visits, mental health, and chronic disease management 

This program will be directed by the Rural and Community Engagement Division of TTUHSC. Through the Medicine on the Move initiative and other programs, Rural and Community Engagement Division aim to foster connections in the community to collaborate for improving population health.
