Program Overview
Year 3 medical students will go through an 8-week clinical rotation to get hands-on training and learn in real-world environments. Each student will be scheduled to do:
- Outpatient
- Duration: 2 weeks
- Location: Psychiatry Clinic
- Inpatient
- Duration: 2 weeks
- Location: Sunrise Canyon
- Neurology
- Duration: 1 week is highly encouraged, but not mandatory
*May opt for an additional week of either child or general consults. - Location: Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
- Duration: 1 week is highly encouraged, but not mandatory
- Psychiatry Consults
- Duration: 1 week
- Location: University Medical Center
- Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Duration: 1 week
- Location: Relational Health Center at Covenant Children’s Hospital
Throughout the rotations, students will meet with patients, attend didactic lectures, and log their cases. Final week of the rotation medical students will utilize that whole week for studying.
