Abilene Nurse Practitioner Reception

WHAT: The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, in conjunction with Nurse Practitioner Week, Nov. 11-17, will host a reception honoring local nurse practitioners.

WHEN: 5:30 to 7 p.m., Monday (Nov. 12)

WHERE: Cypress Street Station, 158 Cypress St.

EVENT: This year’s keynote speaker will be Pearl Merritt, Ed.D., M.S., MSN, regional School of Nursing dean.

A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse who has advanced education and clinical training in a health care specialty. Currently there are more than 155,000 nurse practitioners nationwide.
