Amarillo grad students receive travel scholarships
Three graduate students from the School of Pharmacy’s Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (GPPS) recently received travel scholarships to attend to attend conferences related to their research.

Sreedhar Reddy Suthe
Ali Sifat and Sreedhar Reddy Suthe have been selected by the Society of Toxicology (SOT) Awards Committee to receive a Graduate Student Travel Support Award to attend the SOT’s 57th Annual Meeting and ToxExpo March 11-15 in San Antonio. The award recognizes scientists who are making a positive impact on the field of toxicology.
Sifat is a Ph.D. candidate who works as a research assistant in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences lab of Thomas Abbruscato, Ph.D. Suthe works as a research assistant in the Department of Biomedical Sciences laboratory of Ming-Hai Wang, Ph.D.
Ahmed Morsy
In addition, the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation selected GPPS student Ahmed Morsy to receive a Young Investigator Scholarship to attend the 12th Annual Drug Discovery for Neurodegeneration Conference: An Educational Course on Translating Research into Drugs Feb. 4-6 in Washington, D.C. Morsy works as a research assistant in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences laboratory of Paul Trippier, Ph.D.
