Sharon Hunt, MBA, School of Health Professions Clinical Practice Management assistant professor, was named a Northwest Texas board member for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). This network is an international professional society that works to advance health care management excellence through education and research.

Irene La-Beck, Pharm.D., School of Pharmacy assistant professor, was awarded the American College of Clinical Pharmacy New Investigator Award for her innovative research and impact in clinical pharmaceutical science. La-Beck’s research focuses on drug formulations using nanoparticles and their interaction with the immune system.

Yasmine Alhasan, School of Pharmacy fourth-year student, was appointed Distinguished Student Pharmacist by the Texas Pharmacy Association (TPA). Each year, TPA recognizes members who have made outstanding contributions to their profession and practice leadership and advancement of the practice of pharmacy in their community.

Alok Ranjan, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Pharmaceutical Sciences Ph.D. candidate, was awarded the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Graduate Student Research Award in Biotechnology sponsored by Janssen Research and Development, as well as the Young Investigator Travel Fellowship Award to attend the Symposia on Cancer Research 2016 at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Mohammad Jahidur ‘Jahid’ Rashid, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Pharmaceutical Sciences Ph.D. candidate, was selected by the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Formulation Design and Development to receive a travel award. This discipline focuses on formulation design, research and development; a multidisciplinary field drawing upon the physical, chemical, biological and engineering sciences.

Kshitij Verma, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Pharmaceutical Sciences Ph.D. candidate, was selected to receive an AAPS Graduate Student Research Award in the Drug Discovery and Development Interface. This discipline focuses on medicinal, natural products, molecular and structural chemistry and drug design and discovery.
