In a packed house, after almost an hour of discussion about the future of the city Health Department, the Lubbock City Council voted to adopt the recommendations from the health board, keeping immunizations and other services in the Health Department.

Linda Brice, an associate professor in the School of Nursing at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, said she was elated at the passing of the recommendations.
