Dean’s Faculty Appreciation Awards
Over 180 School of Medicine faculty were honored for their role in medical education, research, patient care and administration at the Dean’s Faculty Appreciation Dinner.
Claude Lobstein, from the Department of Medical Education received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his 43 years of service. He helped create and build the School of Medicine Willed Body Program. Presently, 5,343 cadavers have been donated and used. Lobstein built the program to another 6,069 who have willed their bodies. The program provides cadavers donated for training and research for health care students.
John Griswold, M.D., received the Chair Emeritus Recognition for his significant contributions made to the School of Medicine. Griswold served as the chairman for Department of Surgery for 19 years. Griswold served as the medical director of the trauma center from 2000 to 2014 and the medical director of the Timothy J. Harnar Regional Burn Center from 1992 to present.
