Thirty high school juniors and seniors from Texas, California and Missouri who are interested in pharmacy as a career will be in Abilene next week for the Fourth Annual Raider Red Pharmacy Summer Camp at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy campus, according to Tech spokesman Mark Hendricks.

The aspiring pharmacists will spend their time exploring the profession through hands-on learning experiences and activities. They will also tour local health care facilities and meet with recruiters from local colleges to discuss pre-pharmacy course requirements. Faculty at the school of pharmacy and local pharmacists will introduce students to drug compounding, patient assessment and research that is conducted in pharmacy science laboratories.
