El Paso Children’s Hospital announces its director of nursing administration and PICU team - Synapse

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at El Paso Children's Hospital is staffed by five board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric critical care intensivists. They are (pictured left to right) Dr. Clinton Woosley, Dr. Michael Romano, Dr. Jorge Sainz, Dr. Angelica Chavez and Dr. Bert Johansson. The team is currently practicing at University Medical Center until the El Paso Children's Hospital opens in 2012.

Dr. Romano is an associate professor at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and serves as the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. He received his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. He completed his pediatric residency at Naval Regional Medical Center in San Diego and his fellowship in pediatric critical care at Baylor College of Medicine. He has worked in a variety of practice settings including military medicine, private practice and traditional academic positions, including the Department of Pediatrics at TTUHSC in Lubbock, West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, and Scott White in Temple, TX
