EpiPen: Price hike leaves Lubbock mom, nation weighing cost vs. health

The rising cost of the EpiPen isn’t new. It’s been increasing for years. A story by the Associated Press shows the price was about $94 nine years ago. It hit $608 in May.

“It shouldn’t cost that much,” said Charles Seifert, a professor of pharmacy practice and regional dean for Lubbock programs for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy. “The drug is generic.”
