Honoring Those Who Make a Difference
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine hosted an appreciation dinner for community physicians and partners.
Currently over 600 community-based physicians have an appointment with the School of Medicine. These physicians assist in the medical education of students, residents and fellows with patient care experiences in their own private practices. Many bring their experience to the classroom as part-time lecturers.
Steven L. Berk, M.D., TTUHSC executive vice president, provost and School of Medicine dean said the evening also was dedicated to the teaching medical community.
“Thank you for allowing us to express our gratitude and appreciation to all of you who contribute to the educational, research and service needs of our students, residents and fellows,” Berk said. “Each of you makes a significant contribution offering your expertise, medical knowledge, financial support and dedicated partnerships.”
Berk said for decades the School of Medicine has had the support of community physicians and medical professionals who have provided an invaluable role in the teaching and service missions of the university. These physicians were recognized by the School of Medicine for their commitment to health care and continued support of medical education.
