Three children in Lubbock County were diagnosed with Enterovirus D 68, a virus that causes respiratory infections and common cold-like symptoms, according to a Lubbock county news release.
This type of virus is most common in the summer and fall months, Dr. Fatma Levent, a professor at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center who specializes in pediatric infectious disease, said. The virus can cause vomiting, coughing and sneezing in younger children.
