National Academy of Inventors Inducts TTUHSC Faculty Members
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) faculty members were inducted in the inaugural class of the local Texas Tech University System Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) April 27. The NAI recognizes individuals whose research has moved out of the laboratory and is transitioning to applied use through the patent process.
Local members are recognized at three levels. This year’s awardees were:

· Jaou-Chen Huang, M.D., professor, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology
· Lingkun Kong, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor, Department of Ophthalmology
· Devin Lowe, Ph.D., assistant professor, Immunotherapeutics & Biotechnology, Abilene
· Claudia Meek, Ph.D., research associate professor, School of Pharmacy, Dallas
· Lindsay Penrose, Ph.D., assistant professor, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology
· Afzal Siddiqui, Ph.D., Grover E. Murray Professor and vice president for Institutional Collaborations
· Thomas Tenner, Ph.D., assistant dean for Faculty Affairs & Development, professor of the Department of Medical Education

· Patrick Reynolds, M.D., Ph.D., director of the School of Medicine Cancer Center and professor of the Department of Cell Biology and Biochemistry
