Pediatric research associate awarded travel grant
The Southern Section-American Federation for Medical Research (SAFMR) and the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation (SSCI) recently awarded a $750 travel grant to Mohammed Al-Obaide, a research associate for Department of Pediatrics Professor Tetyana L. Vasylyeva, M.D., Ph.D. SAFMR and SSCI provide grants each year to acknowledge the fine work of faculty and trainees, including fellows, house staff, medical students and graduate students. Al-Obaide will use the funds to attend the SAFMR/SSCI Southern Regional Meeting Feb. 11-13 in New Orleans.
