Physician Assistant Students Receive Future Educator Fellowship
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Master of Physician Assistant Studies students, Winnie Chau and Isidro Figueroa, were selected for the 2018-2019 PAEA Future Educator Fellowship.
As one of the most selective fellowship programs in the state, more than 150 applicants from 88 different Physician Assistant programs applied to fill 16 positions. TTUHSC was the only program with more than one representative chosen.
The FEF is designed to enhance PA students’ understanding of medical education and academic careers in PA education. The fellowship aims to provide a broad foundation of teaching to prepare students for careers in education. The FEF will help create and enhance students’ pathways to education by fostering students to be learners, leaders, citizens, collaborators, designers, facilitators, and analysts. As part of the fellowship, both students will attend the PAEA Annual Education Forum in Anaheim, CA in October, then, they will be engaged in a year-long program, working through educational programming, problems, and competencies designed to foster foundations in PA education.
