School of Nursing Meet &$1Greet
Nursing students spent time getting to know each other last month.
The School of Nursing’s Office of Student Affairs and Texas Nursing Students’ Association (TNSA) leaders Julia Pyle and Adrian Mulig recently hosted a Meet & Greet for incoming nursing students in the courtyard between the Academic Classroom Building and the Preston Smith Library.
Outgoing TNSA officers had the opportunity to welcome new nursing students to the Lubbock campus.
Lauren Sullivan-Dawson, M.Ed., director of the School of Nursing Office of Student Affairs, said more than 100 students attended the event — including new students, juniors and seniors.
"The new class of nursing students really enjoyed the opportunity to meet other new students in addition to currently enrolled students as well as faculty members and Student Affairs Coordinators," Sullivan-Dawson said. "The event also got them excited about new student orientation and the next two years of school."
Junior and senior nursing students mingled and shared advice on how to survive nursing school.
"Junior nursing students felt like they were officially transitioning into the senior class they were so happy to identify themselves as the new senior class and welcome all the new juniors. Of course the seniors were thrilled to identify themselves as soon-to-be graduates," Sullivan-Dawson said. "My hope is that this event will continue annually on our campus in addition to the regional campuses."
