State-of-the-Art Simulation Center Opening Soon

WHAT: Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) officials will announce a major gift from a private donor to establish a new clinical simulation center in Odessa.

WHEN: 10 a.m., Wednesday (Nov. 16)

WHERE: TTUHSC Administration Building Rotunda, 800 West Fourth St.

EVENT: Medical Center Hospital will provide more than 13,300 square feet of space to house a new clinical simulation center featuring multi-modality simulation instruction areas including primary and acute care, a standardized patient program, simulation using advanced patient simulators and haptic devices, and 3-D visualization.

Medical and nursing students at TTUHSC Odessa currently share a clinical simulation center with Midland College.

Editor’s note: Simulation equipment will be on display at the press conference for hands-on demonstrations.
