High school and undergraduate students had the opportunity to get insight into health care professions at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Future Health Care Professionals’ Experience (FHCPE).

TTUHSC schools worked collaboratively to provide the West Texas community insight into health care fields. All five schools, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Medicine, School of Health Professions, School of Pharmacy and School of Nursing faculty, students and staff discussed and demonstrated what a career in each of their respective programs entails.

Mike Russell, TTUHSC Student Government Association president and FHCPE committee member, said the event was a great success.

“We had almost 400 students attend FHCPE,” Russell said. “This year, students had the opportunity to observe a trauma situation with all of the schools involved to showcase how the health care teams work together.”
