Students Put Their Gifts to Good Use

First-place winner Faraz Harsini played the piano, bagpipes and accordion.

Students from all schools recently showcased their talents during the annual TTUHSC Talent Show at the Legacy Event Center in Lubbock.

The public event, sponsored by MusiCare, the Medical Student Government, the School of Medicine Office of Student Affairs and the Office of Student Services, helps welcome incoming students, and serves as a fundraiser for the South Plains Food Bank.

Second-year medical student and event organizer Matt Driver said students and community members raised more than 150 pounds of canned goods for families in Lubbock.

This year's talent show winners were:

  • First place: Faraz Harsini
  • Second place: Asha Kovelamudi
  • Third place: Bruce McHam
