Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Lubbock Christian University Sign Agreement to Cultivate Student Success
On Wednesday, March 27, the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) and Lubbock Christian University (LCU) signed an agreement allowing LCU Honors students the ability to apply early to the TTUHSC School of Medicine. A provision of this agreement allows LCU Honors Students a more direct path, which will not require them to take the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT).
“By waiving the MCAT, a standardized exam for prospective medical students, and allowing early acceptance, the students will have the opportunity to concentrate on interdisciplinary coursework and growth within their studies,” said Dr. Amanda Boston, associate dean of the LCU Honors College.
Lubbock Christian University Honors students who meet specific requirements and who are highly motivated to enter into the field of medicine will be eligible to apply early to the TTUHSC School of Medicine. The students will have the possibility of being interviewed during their third year of undergraduate education and will receive a waiver of the MCAT, if accepted into the School of Medicine.
