Two Permian Basin hospitals receive safety ratings - Odessa American

After a recent hospital rating listed two Permian Basin hospitals as poor in safety compared to other hospitals statewide, some are questioning the accuracy of the survey itself.

In response to MCH’s ratings, Johnnie Jones with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at the Permian Basin and Texas Tech Physicians said they provide excellent care in collaboration with MCH and these recent ratings are largely based on voluntary submissions with many Texas hospitals receiving no safety rating.
