Would You Like to Be a Physician One Day?
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine Office of Admissions will host the Applicant Seminar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 13 at the TTUHSC Academic Classroom Building, 3601 Fourth St.
Hailey Rotenberry, assistant director of Recruiting and Special Programs at the School of Medicine Office of Admissions, said this seminar is open to all students who hope to apply to a medical school and need resources and guidance for the application process.
“The TTUHSC School of Medicine is the only school in the state that makes available this type of seminar,” Rotenberry said. “We want to help students as much as possible to be the most competitive and prepared applicant.”
School of Medicine faculty and staff will present topics such as the application process, how to write a personal statement and the do’s and don’ts of the interview process. Students also will have the opportunity to hear about pre-medical sciences programs and meet KAPLAN representatives. Participants also will hear from a TTUHSC School of Medicine student’s panel and take a tour of TTUHSC.
The cost for the seminar is $20 and breakfast and lunch will be provided. For questions, email somadm@ttuhsc.edu or call (806) 743-2297. To register, visit http://www.ttuhsc.edu/medicine/admissions/.
