Announcement

Due to low student enrollment and low certification exam pass rates, TTUHSC SON post-graduate APRN certificate programs for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care students no longer accept enrollment of new students, effective April 25, 2022. Closure of the pediatric post-graduate APRN certificate programs occurred due to faculty concern regarding low enrollment and low certification exam pass rates among post-graduate test-takers. Additionally, the SON received a letter of “serious concern” on June 17, 2022 regarding the low certification exam pass rates for post-graduate certificate test-takers from the Board of Commissioners for the SON accrediting organization, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Current students enrolled in the PNP Primary Care and Acute Care post-graduate APRN certificate programs are not affected and all resources/courses for current students are in place to support successful program completion. This announcement does not affect student applications for the MSN Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care Programs. For questions, please contact the registration coordinator at applynursing@ttuhsc.edu.

We offer specialized nursing preparation at the master's level in administration, education, informatics and advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) roles with population focus practice tracks in nurse midwifery, family, adult gerontology acute care, pediatric acute care and pediatrics. The master's program is offered online with preceptor-guided clinical learning experiences available in or near the student's home community.
